For many of us, 2020 has felt like a never-ending season of waiting. Though we may reflect on it with exasperation and discouragement, the past nine months have uniquely prepared us for the season of Advent. 

God’s people waited for thousands of years for a Savior who came in an unexpected way during an unexpected time. Though we live on the opposite side of the resurrection, the weight of longing we feel should draw our attention to the hope found only in Jesus. 

This Advent season, we encourage you to embrace the unexpected nature of Christmas 2020. It’s going to be frustrating, bittersweet, challenging, and hard at times, but it has the potential to be an unbelievably sweet holiday. We encourage you to not obsess about what is lost, but to delight with us in what is found in the hope of the unexpected nature of Jesus.
