Athens Church
Our name reflects our commitment to bringing the Gospel to this city. Columbus is known as the "Athens of the Prairies," It is renowned for its architectural mid-century style, innovation, and design.
The name Athens also finds its roots in the Scriptures, specifically in Acts 17:16-34, where Paul preaches to the city of Athens and perceives that they are very religious. Still, yet fail to see the God who made the world and everything in it and how close He really is.

Our Mission
Practicing the Way of Jesus
We hear the language “follower of Jesus” all the time, but what does it mean to be a disciple, or apprentice, of the rabbi from Nazareth? Put simply, it means you re-organize your life around three goals: Be with Jesus, become like Jesus, do what Jesus did. Our dream is that as we live this way, our lives, our communities, and our city will be transformed.

What We Believe
We're a Gospel-Centered community that celebrates the life, death, resurrection, and teachings of Jesus. We hold to the historic teachings of Christian orthodoxy as articulated in the Apostles Creed and the Nicene Creed.
